Jax started swim lessons this week for the first time ever. He is doing really well. He is starting to learn how to kick his feet while on his tummy and learning how to blow bubbles in the water. We are so proud!
We celebrated Father's Day with a two day series of events. Saturday we had stuffed shells (one of Jason's favorite) and the boys gave him a mini bug (explain in a bit), starburst, funyuns, and a card. We went to the park and took some cute pics of them on the slides. Then on Sunday, he had to work. We went to church and came home to his truck parked in the drive way. We were pleasantly surprised. The boys made him a special craft with their hand in it, we ate lettuce wraps (another favorite of Jason's), and relaxed the rest of the evening.
Now back to the bug. Jason has always wanted an older model of the Volkswagen Bug. He currently has a 1968 bug. While browsing the internet he came across this 1959 bug for sale at a really low price. We went and checked it out, and Jason fell in love. So we bought it and now Jason feels totally complete having his bugs! Both run really well, he just wants to fix a couple things here and there and hopefully prep the 1959 Bug for Bug-o-Ramma in Las Vegas.
The boys are so blessed to have this kind of Daddy around. He loves them so much and takes such good care of them... not to mention it gives him a good excuse to continue being a kid! I could not ask for a better man to be the father of our children!
Happy Father's Day goes out to all of you father's and honorary father's. Hope it was a good day!
After leaving Woodland, we made a short stop at Santa Cruz. Some of you know that I love vampire movies. Well, in the 80's the movie "The Lost Boys" was filmed at Santa Cruz. It was really neat seeing some of spots where it was filmed and to kind of think back on the scenes of the movie. Not to mention that it was a great little getaway for our family. We ate on the boardwalk and walked along the pier.
