Mormon Helping Hands

This past Sunday we had a VERY special Sacrament Meeting.  The following was posted on FB regarding the meeting,"President Warren has scheduled a special sacrament meeting and service opportunity this Sunday. San Angelo 1st and 2nd wards and YSA and Spanish branches will all meet at the southwest building for sacrament at 9am. Come in work clothes; we will meet at Bradford elementary at 10am to provide service and help neighbors with storm clean up and repairs. Babysitting will be provided for kids, please bring sack lunches for them. Sack lunches will be provided for all the workers on site. PLEASE help disseminate this info, and send to those you minister to and everyone in your auxiliaries and quorums."

So off to the church we went.  After a brief Sacrament meeting, Jason left to assist with clean-up efforts ear Bradford Elem. under the direction of Mormon Helping Hands, the kids enjoyed various activities provided by SA 1st Ward Primary, and I assisted with making sack lunches for all the workers.  The RS sisters punched out 200 lunches within 45 minutes.  It was phenomenal!  What a great opportunity to serve.

Little Olympics and Field Day (VIDEO)

Today was packed with all sorts of outdoor fun.  First, Jax got to participate with his classmates in the Little Olympics.  He did super well and we are very proud of him.  Later that afternoon, both the boys participated in various field day events....potato sack races, corn hole, obstacle course, tug of war, water games, color run, and signing shirts (each class was given a white shirt with the number of grade they were in...they got it colored during the run and the kids later signed their names).
