Trying it out...

So I am trying to make my life a bit easier and allow Jax to be more independent.  I saw this pic on a FB feed awhile ago and have known some of my friends (and sis) to do similar things.  What you do is have the food items categorized and have the kids choose what they want to eat.  You monitor the nutrition but allow them to choose from what you give them.  Instead of packing a lunch the night before or the day of, you have the child do it.  It also eliminates a sandwich everyday.  Here is what I did.... we shall see how this experiment works.  So far he has eaten EVERYTHING that goes to school with him:)

Boxes:

Protein/ Diary (take 2 one of each)
Fruit/Veggie (take 2 one of each)
Dried Fruit/Veggie (take one)
Carb. (take one)
Sweet Treat (take one)

This is where I gained my inspiration from

The number denotes what he needs to take

Yummy:)

First half day of Kindergarten...

For the remainder of this week, Jax will go to school for half day (which the 31st is his first full day).  I am hoping that the easy transition will help:)  Here are some pic from that day.

Walking to school (we live 5 minutes from the school)

So tired that he fell asleep after being home 15 minutes!!!

Jax (and Jas too) wanted to go fishing in the evening.  They caught some shrimp and a crab that we enjoyed later:)

First Day of Kindergarten a AWE!

Today was Jax first day of kindergarten!  I still do not know where the time went!  The night before, we got things ready, laid out clothes, read Twas the Night Before Kindergarten, and had a good nights' rest.  Jax woke up at 6am and was literally bouncing off the walls until we left at 8am.  Today was an hour long (orientation) the next four days are half days.  I don't think it will really hit me until his first full day on the 31st.  Here is to a great start of the year for our Jaxers!

Night before....

First Day!!!

Still can't believe how tall Jax is!

Josh is ready to go to.... in a few weeks:)

He said what?

Jax is FULL of fun little sayings.... today was very cute.  We had to get a few things at the Dollar Tree and I said they could get balloons if the were good.  Later on that day, both boys were playing with their balloons in the living room with Jason while I was cleaning up the kitchen.  Jason calls my name and I turn to see this on Jax....

His response was.... "Mommy look I have bigger tushy butts".  This kid, Love it!

Preschool Stats...

Ok so call me weird but as I was cleaning out things and getting the dining room back in order from the summer preschool, I thought it would be neat to see what the boys actually did.  I knew that they completed A LOT of work, but the amount I was not sure.  I am shocked to find this...

Completed Worksheets:  192!!! (that is an average of 19 worksheets per week, around 4 worksheets per day) I noticed one week they completed 25 worksheets!

Mini Books Made:  4 (Moon book, Space Words, Ocean ABC's, and Musical Instruments)

Crafts Made: an average of 4-6 crafts weekly.... which the average about 50ish (some were edible)

Tests: 2 (one at 4 weeks and another duringvreview week 11)

And all of this completed in 10 weeks!!!!!!

I seriously could NOT believe it.  So proud of these boys.... here's to a great start to the school year!

Daddy date with Jax

Jason took Jax out for a "date" to get his hair cut for school and ice cream.  They had a lot of fun.  So glad that my boys have a good relationship with their Daddy.  Josh is up next...

Preschool Review Week and Graduation (VIDEOS)

The first two days, we reviewed like crazy to prepare for our "test".....

I still cannot believe that 10 weeks  have gone by.  I have seen SOOOooo much improvement from both boys.  They have worked so hard and completed so much work!  I am so proud of all the things that they have done and all the fun times we had just us three (and yes Sarajane at times too).  I am going to miss my boys so much.... can't they stay little just a little bit longer???  School can wait right?
Tests are done!!!

Can you see the stack of worksheets they completed!!!!  I can't believe it!

I wanted their graduation to be a BIG deal.... because really they did so MUCH this summer.  So Daddy and I decided to have an ice cream party.  We watched a PowerPoint of all the pics from these past weeks, took a look at most of our crafts from the past weeks, had a mini ceremony and presented the boys with diplomas, and then ate some good ice cream.

Waiting for the ceremony:)

Watching the PP
Bring on the ice cream!

Sarajane was so cute through the whole thing.  She wanted to be part of it all:)
