This year, Jax is attending Knott's Sky Park Preschool. It is a very small preschool which we are hoping helps with his transitioning. Jax is super excited and said that his first day was fun. His teachers are Ms. Karen and Ms. Carmen. Today was start day #2, hope it goes as well as #1:)

Babypac
Just for fun... we got these USO bandannas and thought we would be silly and put them on the kids. The boys weren't into it at all but SJ kept it on for awhile. Too cute:) Plus you gotta love the thumb sucking.

49 Palms Hike
On Saturday, we decided to challenge our family to the 49 Palms hike in Joshua Tree National Forest. It was a mountain hike into this oasis valley. The hike was about 3 miles total. The kids did great and SJ fell asleep on both Jason and I at some point. The views were amazing and the oasis was really cool (temp.) it was quite refreshing after a pretty heavy hike.

What we saw this morning
Sarajane turns 11 months old (VIDEO)
For this photo shoot, we decided on fireflies and butterflies (see onsie (Thanks Grammy!) and sheet:)
Today SJ turned 11 months old.... one more month shy of a YEAR! Precious.... precious time. Our sweet Lil Miss always seems to make things that much better. Whenever things seem kind of rough or hard, she always brings our smiles and laughter back.
Height: 30 in.
Weight: 21 lbs.
Hair Color: Strawberry blond (and her hair is coming in.... slowly)
Eye Color: Dark Blue .... hope it stays that way!
Sleeping: Still sleeps through the night. Takes 2 naps daily; but lately she is picky about the times she wants to take them; little stinker. Loves to cuddle up to her blanket and suck her thumb. She still nurses before each nap time though I am starting to do it less and less and either rock her or put her down; seems to be working out though... one more month until normal milk.
Eating: She still eats what we eat. Lately her favorite fruit is raspberries and she loves loves loves biscuits and gravy and pancakes. She loves to drink water, YEAH!!! She has her favorite purple sippy that she drinks out of. She has been able to drink out of a straw for a few months so that makes things a lot easier too.
Mobile: She is doing her regular crawling by now although she still does the army crawl. She can pull self up and can stand and take a few steps with help. I am not sure when she will start walking but she is definitely strong. She also likes to do push ups and "almost" somersault with her head down and leaning forward. A potential gymnast like Grammy?
Toys: She loves playing with her brothers and their toys. She is very curious but knows her bounds. No real favorite toy yet... but when she wants something, she normally gets what she wants.... ie: if her brothers have something she wants they give it to her to play with. Value sharing! She loves being read to and playing patty cake (see video; not the best but still cute!) thanks to Dada and her brothers teaching her.
Teeth: She currently has her two front teeth with her bottom second left coming in. Teething is going ok.... she will cry and fuss but Tylenol seems to help along with sleep. And still everything goes in the mouth
Smiles and Laughter: She loves to smile and she is starting to really squint her eyes when she does (see pics). She loves to be tickled, especially on her toes. She loves being "thrown" on the love sac like her brothers and lets out the biggest laugh when she does!
Notice the squint eye smile!
I promise I am happy in this one!
What a crazy and fun 11 months it has been... let the countdown begin to the big ONE!!!.....much to Mommy and Daddy's dismay:(
Our mini vacation (VIDEOS)
Since Jason has been in training for the past month or so, he was granted a "96" (96 hours off). So we decided to take the kids to San Diego for the weekend. We really wanted to stay at the beach and luckily there is a naval base just off the coast with a lodge feet from the water. So we got a room for two nights and decided to have some fun family time! I will post the individual days starting with:
August 16, 2014:
-Drove to Coronado Island to stay at the Naval Lodge on the beach
-Beach time before bed
-Dinner and enjoyed BUNK BEDS for the first time!
August 17, 2014
-Breakfast
-Beach time
-Sea World
Our favorite show was the Dolphin show and sadly since we were SOOooo involved we didn't take ANY pics at all. Jax and Josh kept saying WOW or Whoa each time a splash occurred. They loved to clap along with the shows too. The kids did FANTASTIC actually, both Jason and I were REALLY shocked, pleasantly of course at how well the kids did! Dennis family fun:)
LONG DAY but yet again can't beat those military rates; our whole family got in for FREE and a day pass is $84.00!!!
August 18, 2014
-Breakfast
-Beach time
-Say bye bye room... with silly fun!
-Lunch in Temecula
-Back in 29
It truly was a great weekend and the kids really enjoyed it and did so well!

I should have taken these BEFORE we made a mess from coming back from the beach... but you get the idea! It was a HUGE room with DVD players TV's and space galore. Can't beat the military rates sometimes!
