Memorial Weekend 2012

Today we decided to enjoy just being a family and doing outdoor activities. So we went up to our favorite spot in Joshua Tree National Park, came home for lunch and naps, played in our outdoor pool, had a BBQ, then playedo at the park before bed. It was a real fun day, an exhausting day.

I am indeed thankful for the men and women who have served and who are serving our country. Our freedom's aren't free. God Bless the USA.

Josh's First Haircut

Ok, so I finally broke down and had Jason cut Josh's hair. For me it just means that he is getting bigger and I am sad about that, but his hair was getting long. So yesterday afternoon with three cookies to bribe, Jason cut his hair. He did a WONDERFUL job! Josh was real relaxed and let Jason cut his hair no problem. He was getting fussy at the very end only because it started to itch a bit. Then Jason decided to cut Jax's hair as well. Let's just say since there is no proof of that that is went super well.... sarcasm.... So I took a couple of group pics at the end so you can see there hair cuts. Yet again, Jax wasn't too happy about it.

MOPS End of year Celebration

This past Thurs. was the last meeting for MOPS until the Fall. It was really fun! I have enjoyed MOPS so much, it really has been something that I look forward to every other week. Here are some random pics from this year and the last meeting. The pic of me with another gal, her name is Vicki, a person who I have befriended and gotten really close with. The one with just me, which is a really horrible pic, is at our spring tea.

FIF for May 25

This week, I wanted to get ALL the handouts and crafts done for girls camp. Sadly, there are no pics for this, just on the off chance one of the girls sees this post, I want it to be a surprise. I finished the last one yesterday and I am so pleased with how all of them turned out. I did a total of one craft (for the girls to do, so it was gathering material, got some advice from Tammy too), and made 8 handouts, and two larger handouts. I have my friends Tammy (she just rocks) and Erica finishing the last ones for the girls. Hope the girls like them.

Date Night

A bit ago, Jason and I went out on a date night to see Kellie Pickler in concert on base. It was a free concert open to all on base. It was packed by the time we got there. For the first act, we didn't have chairs, but luckily our friend Tammy brought us some for Kellie's part in the concert. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the concert. She is really good live.

The pics were taken from my phone, so not the best quality but you get the idea.

MOPS Playgroup

This past week we also had a playgroup with the MOPS kiddos and Mom's. My friend Vicki took these pics. I love the coloring in the pics. Jax and Josh were in matching outfits. Sadly, Josh was not really wanting his picture taken, so he is only in one. Jax was all about the camera, takes after his Mommy when she was his age.

FIF for May 18... after

Much better!

FIF May 18....before

We love living on base. It is much better for the kids and has other features that we did not have at our house in town. Sadly, though with being on base, you know that the house we live in has been "lived in" a lot. Some "clean" items may get disregarded and sometimes unseen. I went to pick up a toy this past week under the dishwasher and then noticed the hideousness of the baseboards. Seriously, not sure when the last time they were cleaned. It was grossing me out bad. So here Saundra comes with magic erasers and bleach cleaner. One hour down, and they look much better. Still look worn but livable for the moment. I have after pics in the next post.
