My sweet, fisty, and strong Great Aunt Marlene passed away peacefully last week. She was such a nice and loving with the most stubborn, hard headed, and tough around the edges demeanor. Perfect combination, truly it was! Some of my most fond memories with her include playing cards where she would get very upset if she lost and I remember her mumbling under her breath whether it be swearword or not if she didn’t win, sometimes when she would talk to us midsentence she would break into baby talk, she loved to hug and snuggle us when we came for a visit, and probably one of my most precious and fond memories of her was at another funeral coincidentally; the funeral was for my Grandma Donna and prior to the services all of the family was in the room with my grandma before they took her into the main officiate room, as we were walking into that room the first person that I recognized or saw Eye 2 Eye was her, she gave me a grin and kind of put up her fist in a way that suggested “you’ve got this it’ll be OK hang in there” whether that facial expression was geared toward me or another family member I will not know but for me in that moment it meant the world I was only 12 years old and I still remember that very vividly. She will be missed and what she left behind cherishes;)

Here is her obituary:
