Jax can say a few words here and there. He understands A LOT of words. When we ask him to go and find something, he will bring the item to us that we asked him to bring us. His most recent words include book, ball, hi, here, and of course Dada. I will try and take some video of him saying the words.

Thank a Soldier... Happy Memorial Day

There are so many people in my life who have served and are still serving our country with pride and dignity. Today I would like to thank ALL of the service men and women who train, protect, and defend our country. Let us remember those who have fallen in all the many wars our country has and will continue to fight. A huge thanks to my sweetheart, Cpl. J.J. Dennis. We love you babe and are grateful for what you do!

Family Love... Big Bear Adventure
Something that has been on my mind a lot is the importance and significance of family. Jason and I feel so blessed to have two healthy, handsome boys. We feel so privileged to be their parents and raise them.
The Family: A Proclamation to the World was read by President Hinckley in 1995 at the General Relief Society Meeting. In its contents, it provides the unique nature of the family and how important it is. One statement really hit me,
"HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love
and care for each other and for their children. “Children
are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Parents have a
sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness,
to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to
teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments
of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever
they live."
And something that Jason and I really want to do is create and keep that loving family unit. A way that we have found to help create and maintain that, despite how little the boys are, is to go out and do little things to keep us close. Since we have been in CA, we have found great outdoor type things to do. We took a day trip yesterday to Big Bear, and while out and about this idea and concept keep ringing so true to me that I had to mention it in my blog. I thank Heavenly Father for all that he has given me, and to my family. I am grateful for a caring family who raised me with such great love. I am thankful for my extended family who has taken me in like their own. And finally, and most important, I am thankful for my dear sweet husband Jason and for this family we have created. I hope this finds all you you well and enjoying your family, however it may be. As always we send our love and best!

Josh turns 3 months
On Sunday May 22, 2011, Joshua turned 3 months. Truly time does fly!!! Josh can hold his head up, he is starting to roll from side to side, he has the sweetest smile and the cutest laugh! He still wakes up about once or twice a night, but is doing well otherwise. He is starting to get on the same daily schedule as Jax (thank goodness!). He continues to be such a joy in our lives. He and Jax are still trying to figure out each other, it is cute to watch. Here are Josh's current stats, off the charts in everything (BIG SURPRISE!)

Weight: 17 lbs. 11 oz.
Head: 17.5 inches
Red onesie is a gift from his Aunt Bunny. It is a Nike Onesie that reads "I am Faster than you and I Crawl."

This past week, I bought new outfits for the boys at Osh Kosh (85% off!!!). I decided to have to try and see if I could get some cute pics. I think they turned out pretty good. On Monday, I took both the kiddos to the doctor for check-ups. Since Josh turned 3 months on Sunday, I will post his with his three month post. Here are Jax's current stats:

Sunday Chill
Day at Joshua Tree National Forest
On Saturday, Jason and I decided to check out more of Joshua Tree. We decided to go on a hike to Barker Dam. It was also a good time to try out our jogger that we bought at a garage sale for $20.00. It was about a two mile hike and the boys did wonderfully. We hiked through a lot of boulders so Jason had to maneuver the stroller very tactfully. Needless to say, Jax looked like hes was enjoying the ride.
