Charity work...

One of my new years resolutions was to provide some sort of charity each month outside of church. I know there are others who are in need and if I can help, I will. What triggered this whole thing was MOPS. So here is what I've done thus far:

Jan.> (this was a small month of service, sadly) Donated clothes to DI (no motive to write if off for taxes) and paid for someones bill at the Dollar Tree

Feb.> Made 4 (working on one more) newborn beanies to donate to the hospital

....upcoming charity (which was inspired by my niece Andraya) is to donate to Locks of Love. My hair has always been long, so this is huge and I am not sure what month this will take place in. Will keep you posted. I am growing my hair out, and let me tell you it is getting really long.

FIF for Feb. 24th

Wanted to get the boys' thank you cards done and sent out. I printed off cards for the boys to color on, I wrote on the back, then had them write their names (Jax at least), then I addressed and mailed them. A huge thanks again for all of the thoughts and birthdays wishes to our two precious boys:) They are indeed so loved!

Date Festival

When we first moved here, my Grandma mentioned how much she enjoyed going to the date festival that is held in Indio every year. So we decided to go and check it out. It was wonderful! Good carnival, good fair food, animals were awesome, and of course the dates tasted sublime. I didn't take a lot of pics, but here are a few. If you are interested here is a link to the brief history of the festival.

Singing to Josh on his 1st B-Day (Video)

Josh Birthday Day

Rachel left for Sc that afternoon, so when Jason got back from dropping her off at the airport we celebrated his birthday. We had breaded chicken, mashed potatoes (one of his favorites), and green beans. I had made him a small chocolate cake to share with his brother. He wasn't sure what to do with it at first:) After bath time, we opened up presents and cards from family and friends. Needless to say, it was a great way to turn one!

Josh turns 1!!!

Joshua turned one on Feb. 22. He is growing up way fast. We love him so dearly. He has the best laugh ever! Most everything has stayed the same...

Favorite Food: Anything really, he really likes fruit, takes after Grandpa Dennis

Favorite "Toys": Blocks, cars, books, NOW HIS OWN BLANKET, THANK YOU AUNTIE NENE!

Favorite Play pal: His brother and our friends the Adams' (they have three kiddos who just adore Josh!)

Favorite time of Day: Afternoon after lunch and bath time; when we say it is time for a bath he crawls to the bathroom; too cute!

Weight: 31 lbs. 8 oz.
Height: 35.5 in., almost 3 ft. tall
Head Circum: 18.5 in.

He is still in a size 6 diaper (goes through about 4-6 daily), large 24 month to 2T clothing fits the best, he has three bottles a day and one at night (HE IS NOW STARTING TO SLEEP FROM 7:30 - 5:30/6!!!!), he babbles all the time "DADADA", he takes two naps a day; varies between and hour to two and half, HE IS NOW OUR WABBLER WALKER!Loves to wrestle with his brother. He is still very curious; he loves playing in the dishwasher while we are doing dishes( kind of annoying), likes playing with toilet paper, and getting into anything we say "no" for:) We love watching him grow and can't wait to see what the next month holds. Our nickname for him is "ours Littles"; now we know he is not small by any means, but he is our littlest:)

Jax 2 year stats

I wanted to get both boys in at the same time, so I waited until Josh's 1 year apt. to take Jax in. Here are his current stats, still in the 99% percentile in weight and height. Doc said he is growing real well and seems like a happy boy.

Weight: 40 lbs.
Height: 3 ft. 3.5 in.
Head Circum.: 19.5 in.

Trip to San Diego Temple and La Jolla Beaches

While Rachel was visiting, we decided to take her to one of her favorite temples. She has never seen it before and really wanted to. It was so beautiful! It was super relaxing and the boys had fun in the grass. Jax also noticed the "shiny thing" on top and started to point. We told him that it was Moroni. After awhile, we asked him "Where's Moroni?" and he pointed up to where he was. It was way too cute. Later we relaxed on the beach and had dinner at Olive Garden. It was a great day filled with beauty:)

(FYI: I will be doing a few different blogs off of the pics from this day)
