STUCO retreat at Estes Park

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to go with the Student Council kiddos on their winter retreat up at Estes Park.  We stayed at the YMCA of the Rockies; which the last time I was there was my freshman year of college for the young single adult retreat... long time.  Our cabin had eight rooms (each room had two double beds, closet, bathroom), a huge kitchen with two of every appliance, large dinning area that had many tables, huge loft, and a huge living area with multiple chairs and couches.  We were nuzzled up against the hill and got to take in the beauty every morning.  The kids planned out the rest of the semester, continued to grow as friends, and had a lot of fun.  One evening was a fancy dinner filled with "cocktail" time and a nice dinner that the sponsors served.  These are truly amazing kids with such great potential for bright futures!  It was a great weekend!

A huge thanks goes out to Dena, Cyndi, Mom, Dad, and Michelle for helping me out with the boys.  It truly meant so much!

New Daycare

At the beginning of this year, Jax and Josh started going to a different daycare.  A friend from our ward does in home care/preschool and specialized in kiddos under 4.  Jason and I both met her and knew that the boys would receive the attention that they needed.  They truly love her and it is obvious that she loves them.  Here are some pics from what they do there.

Counting our Blessings

There is something that no parent is really prepared for, taking your child to the hospital.  Long story short, while we were visiting family, Jax got a hold of some medicine (child proof mind you) and took some of it.  We noticed within a matter of 20 minutes he was not acting like himself.  I found the evidence later with my Aunt and as a family; Jason and my cousin Court making most of the calls, (which I have such a supportive loving family who would do- and did- anything for these little guys) we called the ambulance and had Jax transported to the hospital.  Jason went with Jax as my cousin and I drove behind them.  Luckily I had a huge support system to help watch Josh as we were gone.  The doctors decided to take more precautions and had him helicoptered over to Children's Hospital.  My Mom met us there and was with Jax when my Dad, Jason, and I arrived.  He stayed overnight and recovered so well.  We were released early and since then Jax has returned to his normal, fun self.  I appreciate all the thoughts of love and concern, prayers, and those who fasted for him.  I know that it helped and that is why he recovered so quickly.

Gorham Family Christmas

Sadly I only got a few pics with me and Kyla- which is not bad because she is the most adorable one that was present:)

Each year, the Gorham side gets together after Christmas for a New Years celebration.  We enjoyed some good food, good conversation, laughing, playing games, making fun of Uncle John, Uncle John's one ringers, Uncle John hiding Aunt Rhonda's home decor, you know the usual.  I was so glad that Jason could be part of it.  This was always a huge part of my growing up and I am so glad that all three of my boys got to experience it:)

Christmas Day

We are truly so very blessed.  Christmas Eve, we were able to open presents with my Dad and Michele. We looked at Christmas lights, the boys refer to them as "Pretty Lights" and say by to them when we pass.  As we were looking at the lights, it started to snow, A WHITE CHRISTMAS YEAH! Then on Christmas Day, we woke up at about 7 (thank you boys) and we saw what Santa had left.  Jax loved dumping his stocking out to see what was inside.  Josh was more concerned about opening presents.  As we started to open presents the boys are got more and more into it.  They are so spoiled!  We then cleaned up, ate some yummy breakfast, went outside and enjoyed the snow, and then later my Mom and sister came over for dinner and presents.  We were also blessed by talking to numerous family members and oddly enough talking to our nephew who is on a mission, through my mother-in-law's Skype to my sister-in-laws computer screen.  It was a fabulous Christmas and we couldn't be more blessed.

Merry Christmas from the Dennis'

Christmas Eve

Here are some pics of the boys on Christmas Eve.

Aunt Cindy turns 50... I mean 29:)

Mom, Cyndi, the boys, and I surprised Aunt Cindy in Colorado Springs for lunch in celebration of her birthday.  Mom and Cindy have been friends FOREVER and it is great to see that their friendship still thrives:)
