Double D Fun (VIDEO)

As a family we have taken on helping with the upkeep of this hunting ranch (Check them out..... http://www.doubledgameranch.com/).  SJ and I work on the inside and Jason and the boys "man" the outside.  To us, this is not really work because of all that we are exposed to.  It is so beautiful and the animals are just a sight to see.  We love the peace and quiet and all the surroundings.  We look forward to many trips;)

Week #3 SS- Entomology

This week it was all about the creep crawlers.....yeah so much fun!  The kids just loved identifying different bugs/insects and being able to observe them in their habitats.  Some favorites were Bees (Jax), Ants (Josh), and Butterflies (Sarajane).  We also found a few scorpions and spiders...which are bugs but not insects, as Jax and Josh remind me:)  HEHE

Creating their own bugs/insects....they LOVED this part and got super creative:)

While outside one day...Sarajane spotted two different butterflies and a caterpillar.  It was a highlight....she named the Butterflies Princess and Sweetheart....too cute!

Kayaking at Lake Nasworthy

I am an advisor in the YW at church.  The Beehives (girls 12-14 roughly) usually have their activity on Wednesday evenings, but the rental place wasn't open then, so we opted for Monday morning instead.  We had so much fun! The kids, boys especially, were in heaven!  I had SJ and Jax with me and the other leader has Josh with her.

Father's Day 2018

Happy Father's Day to my sweet Daddy and loving Father-in Law.  We are truly so blessed to have you in our lives.  The kids just adore you both and enjoy any/every minute they get to share with you.  Thanks for always being shining examples and supporters of us.  Truly means the world and we love you for it!

Jason has truly exceeded my expectations as a Father.  I knew 14 years ago that he would be a great father, and now I am just floored at the love, care, support, and devotion he gives our children.  There is nothing he wouldn't do for them to ensure their happiness and safety.  We love you Jason!  You are truly one of a kind and we are so glad to call you ours!

Jason couldn't decide what he wanted for Father's Day dinner, so I made them all...

Friday- Ham and Potato Soup with Rolls and Fruit
Saturday- Parmesan crusted Chicken, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Caramelized Mushrooms, and Baked Potatoes
Sunday- Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli

Then Cinnamon Rolls and Scrambled Eggs before Church

Yeah SPOILED!!!:)

Kids made Daddy a path for him to follow.....then they hid

Incredible's 2

After our hike, we went out to eat and then to Incredible's 2....too cute and funny!

Arcade first (each kiddo got $1 in tokens, something they earned during summer school) to kill some time before the movie started.  A bit blurry....

San Angelo State Park

This Saturday, we went on a 2 1/2 mile hike on Dinosaur Trail in San Angelo State Park.  The kids were able to see real trace fossils.  “The fossilized track way contains 26 sets of tracks made by different animals that existed 250 to 270 million years ago, a time that predates dinosaurs by at least 100 million years,” according to an article in Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine.  The kids, despite the heat, really enjoyed seeing the prints and how it connected to our Paleontology Unit.
