This year, we tried to reflect on what Memorial Day truly means. We explained to the boys, very simply, what this day means and how we can show respect. As we talked with the kids and planned out our weekend, it became so clear to me what this day means. It is all coming full circle about the family. These brave men and woman, however scared or fearful they were of what would come, gave their lives for their families and for all the families back home in the US. Because of their selflessness, we can be together as a family and enjoy each others company. My heart breaks for those that have lost, and I pray for them always and hope they know that the memory of their loved ones will never be in vain.
All of that being said, I am truly thankful for the men and woman who do serve and continue to serve. Bless our nation.
Our weekend was full of beach fun, pool fun, long bike rides, BBQ (we were empty out the fridge and freezer so it was interesting...), and just being together as a family.
Magic soaking up the sun!
