Joshua Tree: Hidden Valley Trail

Another venture up at Joshua Tree.... enjoy:)

Jason had a few days off so we decided to head up to our favorite place.  Here are some pics from our  family time.  We love Joshua Tree and finding new things.  Just recently we have starting a "counting" system of how many times the kids do or see something.  This tally goes as follows:

Boys falling- for no reason

Jax:    almost twice so we'll give him a half
Josh:  4

Seeing Lizards.....

Jax- 1
Jason- 1
Saundra- 1

(a new one.... Jax and Josh thought that the trail led to Grandma and Grandpa's house; we just got back from visiting them:)  So they kept asking if they could go to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Too cute!

Jax- 6
Josh- 4

Pics....

Saw this huge fly (insect thing) on a tree, had to take a pic of it

Josh and Sarajane Swim Lessons 2014

Josh and SJ were suppose to have swim lessons last week in the evenings, but sadly they were canceled because of afternoon/evening wind storms.  So they got rescheduled for this week.  Jax sits on the benches and waits (while playing games, coloring, etc.) while Jason takes Josh and I take Sarajane in the pool for their lessons.  Their session is called Bubbles Guppies; they pretty much go over tasks we could do with our children to help prep them for swimming.  Josh is already such a fish anyway that this was a breeze for him and most of the time he and Jason do their own thing.  Sarajane is getting use to the water and likes to float on her back.  She loves playing the "Happy" song too.  We have two more days of lessons but I wanted to take advantage and post some pics that I was able to take yesterday; not sure if I will be able to take anymore.  Go our little swimmers!

Look at his face!  Pure joy!

Sarajane gets really tired close the end of lessons; hence the face:)

A huge thanks to my Auntie Nell, Uncle David, and the Tam cousins for my new swim suit I love it!!!

Jax's Swim Lessons Summer 2014

We enrolled Jax in the Private Fish class that base housing hosts.  At first, Jax was very hesitant but after the first day he got into the groove of things and got better each day.  This was the first swim lessons he had that neither Jason or myself was in the water with him.  We are so proud of Jax and for him being courageous!  On the fourth day he came home and told Daddy, "Dad I swim like a fish."  Too funny!  Sadly I would have taken more pics on the last day, but Jax got stung by a yellow jacket (we think).  He was very sad and hurting at first but stopped crying once we put a band aid on it.  When we got home, he told Daddy, "Dad I got stung now its an owwy hurt."

He refused to smile... however still too cute!

Had to wave at Mom I guess

Comparison #5

Haven't done a comparison in awhile.  So who does she favor?
Jax at 9 months
Josh at 9 months
Sarajane at 9 months

Sarajane is 9 months

Yesterday our sweet little miss turned 9 months old.  I cannot believe she is only 3 months away from being a year old!!!  Time is so very precious!
We went to the doctor yesterday and she said that Sarajane is progressing right along.  We didn't have shots... thank goodness.  Here are her current stats for our petite girl.

Weight:  17.25 lbs. (23% percentile)
Height:   27.9 in. (64% percentile)

According to the doc. and SJ charts, her gain for both height and weight are right on target.  She is just a small girlie.

Currently she....

-can sit on her own
-pull herself up
-stand holding onto furniture for long periods of time
-crawl, scoot, backward crawl... maybe walking soon:)
-babels (Ma ma, Da da, and Ba ba are her favorites)
-eats table food (rarely has baby food anymore)- loves anything with noodles and chicken and loves pears and peaches
-drinks from a sippie cup (I hold it for her sometimes but for the most part she holds it on her own)
-take 2-3 naps daily for 1-2 hours each
-sleeps from 7:30-7 most days (6/7 a week)
-wears size 2 diapers
-her clothing sizes are all over the place but most are right at 9 months
-loves playing with blocks and books
-loves playing and giggling with her brothers
-just got her first tooth this past weekend
-and as always... LOVES TO SMILE!!!!

My Daddy the Coach

The past few months have been quite the whirlwind for my Dad.  He sold his house, retired, moved down to Pueblo, and started coaching at CSU - Pueblo.   Despite all the craziness in his life, I hope he knows how much I love and appreciate him.  Growing up, athletics was ALWAYS part of our family lifestyle.  I am thankful for my Dad the coach!  It was funny because in high school, some of the guys (most Dad's players) called me the "CD" AKA Coaches Daughter!  I love you Daddy and thank you for blessing my world with the love of SPORTS!

Josh can swim???!!!! (VIDEOS)

While up in Woodland, we went to the neighbors house to swim.  Little did we know the turning points of events.... Jason was playing with the boys and encouraged Josh to come to him (about a foot) and kick legs to see how well he did...... well Josh went all the way under, kicked his feet, moved his arms, and held his breathe, and swam to Jason.  It was the coolest thing and came out of no where!!!  We are so proud of our little fish!

Twinkle Twinkle (VIDEO)

The boys really enjoyed playing on Grandma's piano while on our trip.  I had to take a pic of our future music stars!

Sarajane can crawl!!! (VIDEO)

For the past two months, Sarajane has been crawling backward.  Well, this past week she has started to really get moving.  I took a video of her crawling while we were at Jason's folks house.  Baby girl is getting too BIG too FAST!

Happy Father's Day Superdada

Jax, Josh, and Sarajane have the best Daddy in the whole wide world.  This past Sunday we were traveling and weren't really able to truly celebrate what a wonderful Dad the kids have.  But we tried to make it as fun as possible.  When we got home we ate and opened some presents.  I am thankful that I have an amazing husband to be the father of our three beautiful children.  He does so much and sacrifices a lot for our happiness.  We could not ask for more!!!
