#7 Are you kidding me!?

On July 31, 2015 Jax pulled another tooth!  This will be his 7th tooth; bottom second left (looking at it right.)  Can't believe it!  Dentist looked at him about a month ago and said all this is normal and that his teeth are in his gums ready to come out.... so we will just be seeing a toothless wonder for awhile:)  HEHE.... his Kindergarten pics are going to be fabulous!

SS~ Music Week July 27-31

This week was all about going along with the rhythm:)  The boys, Josh especially, LOVES music.  Their favorite cartoon is Little Einsteins which has A LOT of singing and musical things in each episode.  We had company this past week (see other post) so things were a bit out of the ordinary, but still the boys learned a lot and enjoyed all the fun crafts they made:)

Day #1: Shapes

Recently the boys are learning new shapes.... it is AMAZING what they are absorbing and honestly I give all the credit to these extremely talented boys.  Thus far they know these shapes:  Circle, Triangle, Square, Rectangle, Heart, Star, Oval, Diamond, Pentagon, Hexagon, Octagon, Parallelogram, Cone, Pyramid, Sphere, Cube, Cross, Moon, and Arrow.  If they have sides, they are able count the sides and tell me the number.  The ones we are working on are Cylinder and Trapezoid.

Day #2: Reading

The growth is wonderful and I love that the boys are now starting to point out letter in labels, signs, books, etc.  you name it!  Today we completed a few worksheets and made a guitar craft that was a major hit!

Smart boys turned their guitars into violins by adding a straw across the strings.  Wonderful imagination!

Day #3:  Math (well we combined this day with Day #4 (morning) because we went to the beach with our guests)

The boys competed few worksheets and made a jingle bell craft that they put around their ankles and danced about:)

Day #4: Writing  (evening)

The boys completed a few worksheets, learned more about different types of instruments and the categories they fall in, and made a piano craft that they gladly ate up!

 Day #5: Science

The boys have been learning about the four different types of instruments; brass, string, woodwind, and percussion.  They completed a few worksheets and then made their own music makers:)

Next up is Body and Health Week.....

Auntie Nell and cousin Makayla visit

For a few days, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit with Jason's sister Jannell and her daughter Makayla.  Makayla will be attending Savannah State and playing volleyball.  They came up for a visit while they waited to get her in the dorms.  The kids LOVED having them at the house.  We visited, went to the beach, and enjoyed some good seafood.  We are so glad that they came up for a visit!

These are the little "clams" we see all the time.  It is ALWAYS fascinating to me watching them dig into the sand after the tide.

 Playing with Makayla was a HUGE highlight for the kids!
