You left me with BEAUTIFUL memories

On January 19, 2018, our beloved Grandma Redell Reed was called back up to Heaven.  It is without saying that my heart aches and how I miss her so.  She was truly a saving grace for me and many others.  She has left so many precious and irreplaceable memories that will forever be imprinted in my heart.  What a thriving example she was and delight to be around.  She was the embodiment of love and care.

She was LOVE.....

"L"- Life's pursuit of family.  Genealogy was something my Grandma loved doing and loved helping others find family members.  She aided in completions of numerous family trees, especially the Reed line.  Her work was wonderful and she reconnected so many.

"O"- Ongoing passion for geology.  This woman LOVED rocks!  Loved finding, collecting, sharing, displaying, and talking about them.  She was always fascinated by them.   How special that she took note of the treasures of this earth and of God's creations.

"V"- Valued time spent with family and close friends.  She enjoyed visiting PERIOD.  She genuinely wanted to know every little detail about what was going on.  She could, and did, spend hours just talking, smiling, and laughing.  Her time with her family was indeed the most precious of times.

"E"- Enthusiasm for her faith.  She was such a devout member of the gospel.  No matter what she went, you could see her glowing example.  She was not afraid nor did she try and hide what she believed.  She was beyond proud of who she was and aimed to be that shining light each day of her life.

Happy 36...

So last Friday, my sweet lil family helped me celebrate my 36th birthday.  I want to thank all who sent bday wishes, in all forms!  It was truly a great day.  The kids made me cards, Jax (with the help of his therapist) made me a bouquet of flowers made out of pipe cleaners,  they took to Olive Garden (TOTAL YUM!) for dinner, and then presents (Jason got me new Uggs and something I have wanted since I was a little girl.  I just LOVE Beauty and the Beast, and have often wanted a rose encased in glass like in the movie.  So what does a stud of a hubby do, he finds one and surprises me with it.  It was the best present ever!)  Truly a wonderful day:)

And I'm full.....left overs are the best!

I was shocked he got me these if you can't tell by the face

I was just in heaven with my new gift.  This is so special and dear to me:)

Gorgeous right!?

SO excited, had to text a pic to my family, look what I got!

Snow Blower

So the kids have REALLY been wanting some snow.  Sadly, their snow play in CO wasn't enough.  So Jason looked on YouTube to see if you could make your own snow machine for minimal cost.  Well, a trip to Lowe's and $10 later, Jason made this snow blower.  Since it isn't terribly cold here, the snow doesn't accumulate like it normally would, but still it is truly one of the coolest things he has ever made and the kids are over the moon that they can make their own snow:)

Building

Grandma and Grandpa Dennis sent the kids these building sets for Christmas.  The other night, Jason helped put them together.  The kids were having so much fun....and yes Jason too:)

Good luck?

Jason thoroughly enjoyed this past hunting season.  On his last day, he saw this cardinal in the tree.  So beautiful what nature can give us!  He thought is was good luck......deer season is now over, onto his next venture:)

Relaxed

On our way home from picking up the boys from school, SJ got super comfortable and did not want to move:)  Sweet girl

Fond Memories

While in CO, we got to attend Rhett's baptism which was in the same church building I grew up going to. It was kinda surreal walking down the halls and thinking back on all the memories. It was great being able relive some of those.

Saw this plaque in foyer....still has my name on it

January 1, 2018.....Coming Home

We were a little bit anxious to come home due to the weather.  Southern TX has been hit with low temps and freezing conditions.  Luckily we did make it home in a timely fashion with no upsets.....well just one.  We were about 45 minutes from home when a coyote bolted in front of the van and hit the bottom right corner.  Awesome!  Thanks coyote for making our entrance into 2018 fabulous....granted we are all safe and sound, we thank God for that!

We are so thankful that we were able to go to CO....thanks to our families for always being there and for making our trip a memorable one:)

It just love this metal art that was in Clayton, NM

Came home to the Truck frozen....

Can you believe this car wash???

CO Trip December 31....New Years Eve (VIDEOS)

We said our goodbyes to everyone and made our way back to Denver.  On the way, we had lunch with Jannell in Silverthorne, got the kids shoes at the outlets, and played on the ice at Georgetown.  (Side note: As we were getting ready to leave, my Mom called and said that she along with roughly a five mile area was under shelter in place due to an active shooter.  Sadly, one officer was killed and others injured.  They did get the guy, but such a sad way to end 2017)
Screen shot from my phone....so sad:(

Idaho Springs

Can you see the buffalo?

When we got to my Mom's, Dad came over for a bit.  We enjoyed some snacks....some games....and rang in the New Year.  The kids were all asleep by 11 and Jason was asleep by 11:30.  Mom and I rang in the New year with a toast and the sound of fireworks.  We welcome and embrace all that 2018 has in store for our family.  Hope yours is bright and full of wonderful things and joyous adventures.

Papa loves getting that chocolate ear

Played Psych with my Mamma and Daddy
