36 (+ 4 days) week apt.

Today I went in for my doc. apt.  I weighed in at 169, again.  It was the first apt. that Jason was able to go to this whole pregnancy, which was really exciting.  He got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was in the 130's.  She also checked to see the position of the baby's head; she did a basic ultrasound just to see where the head was.  I am 1 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced; so right where I should be.  Baby's head is down and in position.  My next apt. is Sept. 10th.  My pre op is on the 17th and then the C-Section is set for the 18th.  Can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown; granted I have my moments of hurry up!  Will post more and the date gets closer.

Girls Night Out

Last night, two of my closest girlfriends (Tammy and Kandis) and I went out for a little RR.  We went out to 29 Palms Inn for some good food and good conversation.  It was a lot of fun and a good way to celebrate my pre birth venture.  Love you both:)

36 Weeks.... 24 more days to go!

I have a doc. apt this Friday but wanted to post some pics of my 36 week old baby belly; not the best.  I have been living in yoga pants and loose T-Shirts lately (real super attractive I know!)  I am really ready to see this new little baby.  My body is starting to really feel all the weight and strains of pregnancy.  Jason has been so supportive through this whole thing,  from back rubs to random food runs, I am so thankful that he is there for me and the boys during this hormonal and sometimes not so easy time.

Cure for boredom...

Well at least in this case.....

I was cleaning on Tuesday morning and the boys REALLY wanted to help.  Jax was home for the morning, which kept Josh occupied for a little while until they noticed Mom doing laundry and other things.  So, call me weird, but I was cleaning our bathroom and saw two cheap walmart flashlights in the cupboard and thought, "Well, maybe these might help."  So I handed them each a flashlight and told them to look under all the beds and the couch for any toys so we could put them back into the playroom.  It lasted for almost and hour!!!  They did find some toys (a small pile) and $.47 cents (luckily nothing else; like dirty dishes or clothes!!! HEHE).  It was truly a hit and kept them busy, plus they helped Mommy who can barely bend over:)

So moral of the story: 

Two cheap flashlights + two curious little boys = Fun for an hour + $.47 cents richer:) + one happy and amused Mama

34.. plus some change apt.

I had my doc apt. today for 34 weeks (roughly).  Today I weighed in at 169 (so I have gained about 24 lbs., still not terrible).  What was funny about the whole weighing in thing was that when the midwife came in to do the normal routine check, she said they must have weighed me wrong last time.  I told her what I had down and she said they had me at 242.  I couldn't help but get a giggle at that; do I really look 242 hehe?  The baby's heart rate was 135 and baby has dropped into position.  We scheduled my next apt. for the 30th which is a full out exam for EVERYTHING! We also scheduled my C-Section for September 18, 2013 with Lt. Sears!  So excited to see him or her in about a month.  I can't believe how much time has flown by!


Any guesses as to what it might be?

The future is brighter!

This past year while teaching at EHS, I had the privilege of being the sponsor of National Honor Society.  While assisting these talented young individuals, I met two of the most wonderful young stars ever!  The saying is "the children are our future".  And with all the bad things going on in this world today, I am so glad that these two are beginning in their ventures to make it more positive, bright, and full of life.  Tanner was just "accepted" (he went through the formal ceremony, already had his letter before school ended) to the Air Force Academy and Ellen will be attending University of Wyoming (Honors Program) this fall.  I couldn't be more proud of both of them for their decisions and high goals.  You both rock!!!

Life is Good

This past week, my in-laws and sister-in-law went camping.  We really wanted to go but sadly could not.  Luckily we were able to get some pictures of their ventures.  Among them were these of my dear father-in-law fishing.  I really liked these pics and wanted to show these to the boys.  Jax kept saying "Grandpa fishin in the water."  Thought it was cute but more importantly thought what great pics. 

A hairstyle with history and STYLE...

I am a history nerd I know....

The mohawk is a hairstyle in which both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the center. The mohawk is also sometimes referred to as an iro in reference to the Iroquois , from whom the hairstyle is derived - though historically the hair was plucked out rather than shaved.

Yesterday, Jason wanted to cut the boys hair.  So with Jax we tried some thing different and it turned out cute.  Never thought they would sport a mohawk, but Jax pulls it off nicely.

This is what happens...

.....when we miss our brother after a week of preschool.  It is evident that these two are peas in a pod.  They are true buddies who love (and wrestle a lot mind you) each other and need each other.

NEED A YEAST RECIPE; BREAD AND OR ROLL

This is a cry for help, literally.  My sweet mother in law makes really good rolls and bread from this utility dough mix.  I have tried doing the recipe many times even with her watching me, but no matter what I do IT NEVER RISES!  Does anyone have a recipe that I could try and compare and maybe experiment a little bit with.  I love fresh rolls and bread from the oven and would love to be able to make some regularly.  I don't have a bread maker, so keep that in mind when sending a recipe (wish I did have one though)  Thanks for your help:)

CHIPS

As some of you know, chips and the Gorham family kind of go hand in hand.  It is true, we love chips and whenever we get together we go through a lot!

When I was single I rarely bought chips and kind of got out of the habit.  When I married Jason we started buying the Scoop chips (easier for salsa and dip) and that was about it.  While living in CO, and more specifically while living with my Dad, he got the boys hooked on chips!

We came home from church today, ate some lunch, and all of us napped for a good while.  I woke up to Jax sitting in the chair, eating out of a bag of CHIPS!  I guess there is no denying that no matter what, our kids will pick up traits from both sides of the family!  For this insist, the Gorham blood; love for chips, runs strong and is in full force!

Splash Park; A Great end to a wonderful Family Day

Jason had Saturday completely off.  We just enjoyed being a family ALL day long and did a variety of things.  To end the day, we took the boys to the splash park on base.  Here are some pics from that night.  You gotta love family time:)

Thanks to the help of my in-laws and Jason's diligence with water and seeding, our back yard has grass!  Here are some before and after pics (excuse the big fat lady in the chair; not the best pic).  Our front yard to amazing, I will post pics of that soon, we aren't quite finished with it yet:)

Days without Jax

Since Jax is away at preschool, Josh has become my little buddy.  I try not to turn on the TV as much as possible so we have to play outside and be creative on activities to keep him engaged.  Today was a little different.  I needed to get some things clean, what I did not anticipate was Josh wanted to help.  Jason came home while we were finishing up.  Josh helped vacuum, sweep (with the Swifter), wipe down the leather couches, clean table tops, and Windex the sliding glass door.  Jason got a kick out of it and took some pics. Guess we gotta start them young?  Josh is such a helpful boy:)
