What to do with empty space

We will not get our furniture and household goods until Thursday.... booo!!!  So we are making the best of it.  We sleep on blow ups, have just enough pots/pans to get us by (Thanks Sharee for the tips), and Susan and Stephen bought us (Thanks again it means so much!) this patio furniture that has been our table for meals.  Lately it has been really rainy, windy, and cold, so outdoor play is out of the question.  Luckily we have movies (no internet yet other than our phones) and we packed two pack backs full of toys, puzzles, coloring items, and books.  Can't wait for Thursday though!

We have a house!!!

This was by far the easiest house hunt of my life!  When we got to Twentynine Palms, getting a house was a nightmare!  So we were VERY sketpical that the base at Cherry Point would have a house for us in a timely manner.  We looked online for rentals the whole time before we got into Cherry Point just in case.  Well, when we got into town we were set to look at a home on base on the 30th.  I called just on the off chance we could see it sooner, still thinking it was too good to be true, and she said she could bump up the viewing to today.  We were very excited and ready to look and maybe move in within the next few days to a week.  Well, we were OVERLY surprised to look at the house, sign a lease, and move in all within 24 hours of being in town.  The home is really nice, only three years old!  It is a "duplex" style house, 4 bd, 2 1/2 ba, 2 car garage, with a small fenced in back yard (which we weren't thrilled with but could make work), and almost 2,000 sq. ft.  We were thrilled that we would not be living in a hotel for another week or so. 

Sadly, since this happened SOOoooo fast we won't be able to get our household goods until the 2nd.  You win big and lose a little I guess:)  Here is our new address:

Day #11 (3/25/15) Traveling to Cherry Point, NC

We are finally residents of Cherry Point Air Station in North Carolina!!!  Here is our trek...

-11 days of travel...
-45 hours in the vehicles
-2600 miles
-13 states (CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, KS, MO, IL, IN, KY, WV, VA, NC)
-5 hotel stays.... plus the generous stays at our families homes
-Multiple potty and gas stops
-Non stop Disney movies and songs
-Snacks and Fast food galore:(
-0.... count it ZERO accidents or throw up incidents!!!
-Many memories and we are ready to make some more:)

....We finally made it to Cherry Point, NC at noon on 3/25/15.... next stop is our new home:)

Day #10 (Wednesday 3/24/15) Traveling to Cherry Point, NC

On Tuesday morning, we headed toward our new home of North Carolina (8 hrs.).  We have traveled for so long, this was the hardest stretch:(  We were in such anticipation it was nuts!

Day #8/#9 (Monday and Tuesday) Traveling to Cherry Point, NC (VIDEOS)

We stayed at Joe and Nina's Sunday night (3/22/15), all day Tuesday (3/23/15), and then headed out toward NC Tuesday morning (3/24/15).  We were able to celebrate Stephen's birthday too, Red Lobster here we come!  We had a fun visit, we always feel so loved and welcomed at their house:)  Here's to many more now that we are closer.
